The Central Table Agreements ratified in August and November 2015 for OSSTF school board employed teachers and support staff initiated the establishment of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation Employee Life and Health Trust (OSSTF ELHT) which now oversees and operates OSSTF Benefits. Under an employee life and health trust arrangement, an employer (and sometimes the employees) funds a trust account to provide employees with specified health and wellbeing benefits. For the OSSTF ELHT these include health, dental, and life benefits. OSSTF Benefits plans are funded by the employer paid (Boards and School Authorities) full-time equivalent (FTE) funding levels negotiated by OSSTF at the central table as part of the central agreements and member contributions.
