This email is regarding your enrolment in the OSSTF Benefits Health Spending Account (HSA) for eligible OSSTF permanent education workers.
What is a Health Spending Account (HSA)?
An HSA is an extra benefit that provides reimbursement for qualified healthcare expenses that are not otherwise covered by your OSSTF Benefits Plan. A one-time $1,000.00 contribution has been made to an HSA for all eligible OSSTF Benefits Education Workers. You can use those funds to claim eligible medical expenses for reimbursement for you and any dependants. Who is eligible?
The OSSTF Benefits HSA is available for all permanent OSSTF Education Workers. Eligibility is based on being a permanent OSSTF Education Worker (1) when the OSSTF Central Agreement for Education Workers was ratified, May 22, 2020, and (2) at the implementation of the HSA benefit, September 1, 2020.
Why am I getting this email?
You are eligible for the OSSTF Benefits HSA and have not yet finalized your enrolment into the OSSTF Benefits HSA with Blendable. The OSSTF Benefits HSA is administered by Blendable through a secure online Member Centre at osstf.blendable.ca.
Was I invited to enrol?
As an eligible OSSTF Education Worker, you should have received an email welcome message from Blendable inviting you to activate your secure online Member Centre account. Follow-ups to the original welcome message were also sent. If you don’t recall receiving the welcome message, please contact Blendable at osstf.blendable.ca and click on the support link or call 1 888 896 9564.
I thought I had enrolled.
You may have responded to the Blendable welcome invite but have not yet completed your set up, which includes your personal details and contact information, as well as whether you want claims reimbursed via direct deposit or via cheque. In this set up, you also have the option of indicating your eligible dependents so that claims for your dependents could be made through the OSSTF Benefits HSA.
The maximum available under the OSSTF Benefits HSA is one-time only $1,000 benefit for each eligible OSSTF Education Worker. The $1,000 one-time only benefit can be used for eligible claims for you and/or your eligible dependents.
What action do I need to take?
If you have responded to the Blendable welcome invite, but have not yet completed your set up, please login through osstf.blendable.ca and complete your enrolment. If you do not recall your login or password information, please contact Blendable at osstf.blendable.ca and click on the support link or call 1 888 896 9564.
If you have not started the enrollment process, or need assistance from Blendable, please contact Blendable at osstf.blendable.ca and click on the support link or call 1 888 896 9564.
If you have completed your enrolment, no further action is required.
How do I submit a claim?
Once your enrolment is finalized, you will have online access through osstf.blendable.ca to make claims to utilize your $1,000 OSSTF Benefits HSA credit. The credit must be used for reimbursement of eligible expenses incurred on or after September 1, 2020 and on or before August 31, 2022, or on or before your date of retirement if you retire prior to August 31, 2022.
